MONTROSE, Colo.—Two students have been suspended and could face charges after an unspecified threat to other students and staff at Montrose High School in southwest Colorado.
Principal Jim Barnhill said Thursday the school received a written threat, but he declined to give specifics.
Police Chief Tom Chinn says an officer assigned to the school found a list of names allegedly compiled by the students, both girls. He says investigators determined the list was “a tool to be expelled” but officers took it as a potential threat.
He says he requested the students be prosecuted. It’s not clear whether they were arrested. Their names haven’t been released.
On Monday, an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of plotting to attack a school in Palisade, 50 miles northwest of Montrose.
