BOULDER — A Longmont man asked for and got a life prison sentence for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy.
Frank Gutierrez asked Boulder District Judge Maria Berkenkotter on Friday to impose the maximum sentence, saying he himself was abused as a boy and that he cannot be cured of his sexual pathologies.
The judge imposed the maximum sentence and a lifetime of intensively supervised probation if Gutierrez ever is released from prison. The 64-year-old Gutierrez won’t be eligible for parole for 24 years.
