Sam Endicott’s mid-song musical gaffe could have been a disaster. Instead it was a reminder of the Bravery’s improbable charm. Photos by Joe McCabe.

The Bravery played to a small crowd at the Ogden Theatre last Thursday, introducing a couple new songs between their better-known material. After playing one new song, singer Sam Endicott apologized for forgetting the words in the middle of it, claiming that it was relatively new and a work in progress. Now normally when a singer forgets the words to his own song it’s a turn off, but this moment struck me as improbably charming. While the show was half-packed, I left the theater feeling the band’s performance warranted a larger turn out. I guess you could color me impressed. — Joe McCabe
