What do you do in the presence of a rock goddess? You dance. Photos by Brittany Moore.

walked onstage Tuesday at the moments after her band took the stage and automatically had the overzealous audience in her palm. She was costumed with a belt of scarves and feathered shoulders, though it felt more like the essence of her personality than an effort to gain attention. Raw and fearless on stage, Lewis and her band tore through their soulful, psychedelic (with a pinch of blues) new album, “Terra Incognita.” She belted “Noche Sin Fin,” “Hard Lovin’ Woman” and “Uh Huh,” jumping around like a true rock star, split kicks flying. Her classically mellow band mates only complemented her ability to let go. — Brittany Moore
