Kosmos Energy, the U.S. oil explorer backed by Blackstone Group, and Warburg Pincus, said it has a binding agreement to sell its Ghana assets to Exxon Mobil.

The deal is exclusive, said Kosmos chief financial officer Greg Dunlevy on Monday in an e-mail. He didn’t give the purchase price. A person familiar with the transaction said last week that Irving, Texas-based Exxon Mobil will pay at least $4 billion.
