A collision near the intersection of Broadway and Baseline Road in Boulder this afternoon claimed the life of the driver of a moped involved in the accident.
The name of the moped driver was being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin, Boulder police said.
The accident occurred at 4:21 p.m. just south of the intersection of Broadway and Baseline near the entrance to the Basemar shopping center. Witnesses said the moped driver, who was headed south on Broadway, turned into the path of a northbound green Volkswagen sedan.
The moped driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses indicated he was not wearing a helmet, police said.
The driver of the Volkswagen sedan was a 29-year-old woman. She was not injured.
