BOULDER — A collision Monday near the intersection of Broadway and Baseline Road in Boulder claimed the life of the driver of a moped.
The driver’s name was being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, police said.
The accident occurred at 4:21 p.m. just south of the intersection of Broadway Street and Baseline Road near the entrance to the Basemar shopping center. Witnesses said the moped driver, who was headed south on Broadway, turned into the path of a northbound green Volkswagen sedan.
The moped driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses indicated that he was not wearing a helmet, police said.
The Volkswagen driver, a 29-year- old woman, was not injured.
