Getting your player ready...
LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska coach Bo Pelini says the Cornhuskers better be able to run, and run well, when Texas Tech visits on Saturday.
The Huskers are coming off a 27-12 win at Missouri last week, but their offensive-game plan was widely criticized for not incorporating more running plays. Pelini said Tuesday that the ability to rush the ball and keep it away from Texas Tech’s high-powered offense will be critical.
Nebraska will be missing its No. 2 running back. Rex Burkhead injured a foot in practice Monday, and Pelini said the freshman would be out “for a while.” Pelini said he didn’t know the extent of Burkhead’s injury.
Pelini said there are a number of candidates for the backup job behind Roy Helu Jr.
