LINCOLN, Neb.—ESPN sports reporter Jeremy Schaap will deliver the keynote opening address at a two-day symposium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on sports in history.
The symposium is scheduled for Thursday and Friday and is titled “‘The Great Common Denominator’: Sports in History, History in Sports.”
The symposium topics include collegiate athletics; Olympic sports; race, gender and sexuality in sport; and sports journalism.
Schaap’s address is titled, “It’s Not a Real Job: The Rewards and Challenges of Covering Sports.”
He has reported for ESPN since 1996 and often appears on “SportsCenter” and “Outside the Lines.”
Schaap has won five sports Emmy awards.
