Scot Minshall, general manager of Jackson’s Sports Rock bar in Lower Downtown Denver, said extending liquor-service hours could help with crowd control on weekends.

“One of the problems with downtown is . . . everybody gets released between 1:30 and 2 (a.m.) into the streets. That’s where most of your problems come from,” Minshall said. “We actually discussed (with police), three or four years ago, how extending the time would probably reduce that from being a problem.”

State liquor laws can be changed through the legislature or a ballot measure. Andy Vuong, The Denver Post
