The Shaw Group is suing Xcel Energy for $55 million for breach of contract in the construction of the Comanche 3 power plant in Pueblo, according to a complaint in Denver District Court.
The complaint says that because Xcel subsidiary Public Service Co. of Colorado “failed to properly manage the project,” Shaw, a Baton Rouge, La.-based power-plant contractor, incurred added costs. The delays also breached a $10 million settlement Shaw and Xcel reached in 2003 on another project, the complaint says.
