Denver firefighters quickly doused a fire that broke out in an apartment bedroom in a complex at 5400 W. Warren Ave. today.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Firefighters responding to an alarm around 1:30 p.m. found “heavy fire emanating from the third story of a brick apartment building. This was an extremely hot fire,” said Denver Fire Department spokesman Lt. Phil Champagne.

The firefighters had the blaze under control in about 40 minutes. Eleven units responded to the fire, which appeared to have started in a bedroom.

“People were able to self-evacuate and we were able to get crews on the roof to work above the fire,” Champagne said.

Most of the damage was confined to the apartment, though there was some smoke damage in nearby hallways.
