LINCOLN, Neb.—Pheasant hunting season is under way in Nebraska and wildlife officials say it’s off to a challenging start in some parts of the state.

The season continues through Jan. 31. Only rooster pheasants may be taken. The daily bag limit is three and the possession limit is 12. Permits may be purchased at .
