Getting your player ready...
LINCOLN, Neb.—The firearm deer season in Nebraska runs from Nov. 14-22.
The state Game and Parks Commission says large numbers of deer are in the field and plenty of permits remain.
The following are key reminders concerning the season:
Deer must be checked at manual check stations. Electronic checking is not available for the firearm season.
Hunters may take advantage of a Game and Parks program that provides deer meat to anyone willing to accept it.
Also, more than 36,000 acres of private land are available for public walk-in hunting access. Check the 2009 Public Access Atlas for tracts in each county.
