A man was hospitalized after being hit in the head with a hammer when he arrived at a gathering in Wellington armed with two guns on Saturday night.
There were 7 to 10 people at the house in the 8400 block of North Third Street when the fight broke out around 11 p.m., said Kathy Messick, spokeswoman for the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department.
The man, who hasn’t been identified, was armed with a handgun and shotgun. “A fight ensued, he fired a couple of shots,” Messick said. No one else was hurt in the melee.
The man was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
