COLORADO SPRINGS — El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 22-year-old soldier for firing several shots at two people leaving a bar just south of the city Saturday morning.
According to deputies, Michael Hellon, 36, and Aranda Callen, 27, were leaving Rascal’s Bar, 1785 B. St., about 2 a.m. when they were shot at several times. They were not injured.
Deputies later arrested Jayson Stear, 22, on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, felony menacing and felony theft. He is currently being held at the El Paso County jail on an $100,000 bond.
According to the sheriff’s jail log, he is an active duty soldier at Fort Carson.
