GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A Grand Junction man convicted in a crash that led to a pregnant woman losing her baby has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Twenty-year-old Logan Lage will serve the sentence concurrently with three years he is serving for a probation violation on a drug possession case.

Lage was fleeing from a state trooper on Nov. 6, 2007, when his vehicle crashed head-on into a minivan driven by Shea Lehnen. She was 8 1/2 months pregnant. Lehnen’s baby was delivered by emergency Cesarean section but died within hours.

Lehnen said she has forgiven Lage, who apologized during his sentencing hearing Friday.

Lage pleaded guilty earlier to child abuse resulting in death, second-degree assault and misdemeanor child abuse.
