COMMERCE CITY, Colo.—A Hawaii company has received $23 million in stimulus funds to work on a biorefinery project in Commerce City.

Clearfuels Technology Inc. will be working to produce renewable diesel and jet fuel from woody biomass. The company says the project will bring 43 construction jobs to the city and 11 additional jobs at the facility.

The U.S. Department of Energy announced the funding on Friday along with awards for biorefinery projects in 14 other states.

The Department of Energy says a total of 19 projects will receive $564 million in federal stimulus funds.
