Colorado residents have the highest participation on the federal Do Not Call Registry, Colorado Attorney General John Suthers said Monday.
The do-not-call rules require telemarketers and sellers to remove participants from their call lists.
According to a new Federal Trade Commission report, more than 3.8 million Coloradans, or 78,528 per 100,000 residents, had registered their phone numbers with the program as of Sept. 30. Between Oct. 1, 2008, and Sept. 30, 2009, Coloradans filed 29,342 complaints, or 594 complaints per 100,000 residents, with the federal registry, according to the report.
Other top states: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Delaware. The lowest participating state was Alaska. The Denver Post
