DENVER—Police say a man fatally shot by an officer had been firing shots as he walked in a residential neighborhood in southwest Denver.
Denver police say an officer shot the man after he refused commands to put down his gun and pointed the weapon at police early Sunday. It’s unclear if the man fired at police.
The man was pronounced dead at Denver Health Medical Center. His name has not been released.
Police have not said why the man was shooting the gun as we walked along the 3400 block of West Louisiana Avenue. No one in the neighborhood was injured and police say none of the gunshots hit any homes.
