A Jefferson County rancher pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated animal cruelty for the 17 malnourished, abused horses found on his property northwest of Arvada in May.
John Wilmarth McCulley, 44, also pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
The animals were among the 27 previously seized from McCulley in June 2007 but later returned.
