DENVER—A storm has brought snow and frigid temperatures to Colorado, making driving tricky.
Police in the Denver suburb of Wheat Ridge said several vehicles went off icy stretches of Interstate 70 Wednesday near Colorado 58, backing up traffic before the evening rush hour.
In the mountains, westbound I-70 was temporarily closed a mile west of the Eisenhower Tunnel after a semitrailer jackknifed in blowing snow. No injuries were reported.
U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass was closed due to the snowy conditions Wednesday evening.
Temperatures were in the single digits in the Denver area.
Forecasters warned of gusts of 15 to 20 mph for the Eastern Plains and temperatures near zero, with wind chill values as low as minus 24.
