BELFAST, Maine — A 32-year-old woman who shot her husband in the head while he slept in December 2007 has walked away from a Maine courtroom as a free woman.
The killing of 29-year-old James Cummings in Belfast, Maine, drew the FBI’s attention after Nazi memorabilia, radioactive materials and instructions on how to build a “dirty bomb” were found in the couple’s home.
The defense contended James Cummings was a white supremacist who sexually abused his wife, Amber, for years.
