Arapahoe Basin Ski Area will begin construction this summer on a new Leitner-Poma detachable quad chairlift to replace the Exhibition fixed-grip triple chair installed in 1978. Ride time at top speed will be less than three minutes, about half the time of the current ride from base area to mid-mountain.
The ski area is taking suggestions for the name of the new lift, offering a 2010-11 Arapahoe Basin Season Pass or $300 gift certificate to Arapahoe Sports to the person with the winning suggestion. Send suggestions to alanh@a-basin.net.
