Getting your player ready...

If this were Clearwater or Sun City, there’d be nothing at all unusual about the enclave of patio-style ranch homes you can tour today off Parker Road at Dayton in Aurora. But this is Denver…a thousand miles from those big retirement hubs…where despite the snow, more and more people want to stay and retire.

That’s why if you’re considering taking advantage of today’s better market for selling your old house and moving to ranch-level living with no maintenance hassles, you’ve probably never seen anything similar to what’s offered at The Cottages at Dayton Place.

“You can’t find this anywhere else,” says Bonnie Baker, sales associate for MorningStar Senior Living at The Cottages, who’ll be on hand to show you two roomy ranch models–all 2-bedroom or 2-plus-den with 2-car attached garages–each provided with a range of personalized services unlike anything in average “patio” enclaves around Denver.

…Including regular services that not only trim the lawn and shrubs, but that deliver twice-a-month housekeeping, maintenance on interior items such as appliances, a community putting green, and a very attractive clubhouse with fitness center, spa and indoor pool where you can stop by daily for a continental breakfast.

“We even change your light bulbs,” says Ken Jaeger of MorningStar, who notes that the 2-car attached garages–not a carport or parking space–are a strong selling point at The Cottages.

You get all that…but you don’t get responsibilities of ownership. As with ranch enclaves in the famous retirement destinations, The Cottages are an entry fee concept, 95% refundable when you move out; maintained for a monthly fee for as long as you stay. “You write just one monthly check, everything included, even utilities, housekeeping and continental breakfast,” Baker says, adding that both entry fee and monthly fee are being held at pre-construction levels (from $298,000/from $2,975 a month) during grand opening. “This is a luxury lifestyle,” she adds; “we want people to feel as if this is all theirs.”

Two other reasons to explore: The Cottages is part of the larger Dayton Place campus, where residents can “age in place”…or take advantage of wider care options available next door. Also, as part of a grand opening “Founders Club” special, you move into The Cottages now at just 10% of the entry fee while you take six months for your old house to sell. Baker asks, “Do you really want to wait?”
