Dust off your golf clubs if you’ve hung them up to wait out the winter. Swinger’s indoor golf lounge is in full swing, offering lessons from a simulator with more than 50 championship courses around the world, plus a full food and bar menu.
Cody Benjamin and his partner Cameron Nuss have leased a space in the Entertainment District, just south of Park Meadows mall, to set up shop where a foursome can bring their own clubs or rent them from the store to hit into screens with shots of various holes on courses from Pebble Beach in California to the St. Andrews Old Course in Scotland.
“We’re waiting to get the TPC (Tournament Players Clubs) package so people can play Sawgrass or Scottsdale,” said Benjamin, who says customers can come in their own golf shoes and blow five or six hours hitting balls, eating and drinking. “We started looking around, and nobody in Colorado has this. You can utilize it for club fitting or teaching.”
Benjamin also has installed several television screens for “multi-tasking” purposes, he said.
The website will be up this week so you can make your own tee times. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 p.m. and 9 to 11 p.m. daily with two-for-one drink specials. Taylor Made clubs are for rent for $9.99 a set.
Margaret’s moved.
Margaret Ebeling, who was marketing director for Larimer Associates for 10 1/2 years, has moved on to create her own PR and marketing company, The Marketing Trust, which will represent Larimer Associates.
She has a contract to represent marketing activities for Corridor 44, Billy’s Inn, LoHi SteakBar, Ernie’s Bar & Pizza and, coming on board later this year, Madison’s.
“I certainly will be looking for some new clients interested in consumer-centric marketing, remembering that people are on the other end of the transaction and that they are the ones that will help deliver on business objectives and driving the bottom line,” Ebeling said. “I am also pleased to work on a project basis when you need just a little more help in getting it done.” Her e-mail address is margaret@social- .
Love this bar and grill.
Country-music star Toby Keith is opening I Love This Bar and Grill, a restaurant and entertainment spot, at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton this summer.
Named after his hit single “I Love This Bar,” the humongous 22,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 650 people and feature live music and dancing. It also will have 50 HDTV monitors for viewing sports events.
The menu boasts of home-cooked Southern- style fare from pulled-pork sandwiches and meatloaf to Southern-fried Twinkies. The restaurant’s centerpiece is an 85-foot guitar- shaped bar.
I Love This Bar and Grill is taking over the space formerly occupied by Borders Books and Music where Toby, a mechanical bull, also will reside.
