Shorter Community African Methodist Episcopal Church in Denver held a community prayer vigil for Haiti on Saturday night.

“Our prayers are with the people, and we want to do what we can to help in answering those prayers. We have a long congregational presence in Haiti,” said the Rev. Timothy Tyler, the pastor of the church, at 3100 Richard Allen Court.

All relief funds raised Saturday went to the Service and Development Agency, a nonprofit A.M.E. organization that has 28 years of experience in Haiti.
