Sophomore Brianna Artemev (Ralston Valley High School) won her first college gymnastics all-around title Saturday night with a score of 39.150 to lead the University of Denver to first place in a triangular meet with Air Force and No. 18 Penn State. The sixth-ranked Pioneers had 194.650 points, followed by the Nittany Lions (194.150) and the Falcons (185.850).
Coloradans shine on Dew Tour.
Peter Olenick of Aspen received an 89.5 score from the judges and landed on the podium with a third place in the freeski superpipe at the Winter Dew Tour Wendy’s Invitational at Snowbasin Resort in Utah. Jossi Wells, a 19-year-old rising star from New Zealand, won the event with a 92.5 score. Colby West of Breckenridge was seventh.
During the night session, Steve Fisher of Breckenridge finished second in the snowboard superpipe, and Dylan Bidez of Minturn was fourth.
