BOULDER, Colo.—More students at the University of Colorado are joining fraternities and sororities.

As spring rush approaches, the Greek-letter groups are more popular. Fraternity membership is up 12.5 percent from last year, to 1,225 men. The fraternities at CU-Boulder aren’t officially affiliated with the school.

More than a dozen sororities report they have about 1,500 women members.

The trend in Boulder mirrors a national rise in student membership in fraternities and sororities.
