A former secretary at Denver’s Palmer Elementary School who taped a child’s mouth has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor child- abuse charge.
Jennifer Carter was sentenced to probation on a deferred sentence of 18 months. The 46-year- old secretary, who was fired, was charged after taping an unruly student’s hands and mouth with masking tape in October after he was sent to the principal’s office for being disruptive in class. A charge of false imprisonment was dismissed in exchange for the plea.
