Giselle Klingberg liked that she wasn’t learning phlebotomy on a latex arm. Everything was in real time, hands on, relevant.

She received her associate’s degree in applied science in just over a year from Westwood College. She graduated in December and owes $14,000 of the $28,763 cost.

With four kids and a hospice job, she said the school felt worthy of her time and investment.

Because the 41-year-old was a chemistry major back in the day, she tested out of several classes and is now looking for a job.

Her dream work would be in an urgent-care clinic.

“It was great, it got me in, it gets me a job, I can take it wherever I want to go,” Klingberg said.
