Denver Councilman Rick Garcia has been tapped to become President Barack Obama’s regional director of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Rocky Mountain region, which includes Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah.
A special election will be held to fill Garcia’s council seat.
