The nine-year romance between Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend is over.
Theron has stopped wearing the commitment ring Townsend gave her, London’s Daily Mail reports.
“Stuart gave it to me as a sign of our commitment to each other,” Theron said in the past. “I never take it off.”
But it was off at the Hope for Haiti telethon last week. And the Victorian ring was still off as Theron celebrated her mother’s birthday at Spago in L.A. Wednesday night.
The news came as a surprise to Hollywood insiders as the couple has been one of the strongest in Tinseltown.
“I didn’t do a church wedding or anything but we consider ourselves husband and wife,” Towensend told People magazine in 2007. “We love each other and we want to spend our lives together.”
Theron, 34, reportedly decided to break up with the Irish actor after they spent the Christmas holidays in Mexico.
“They had become more like brother and sister than lovers,” a friend of the actress’ told the Mail. “It was she who ended it.’
The South African star is set to remain in the couple’s Hollywood Hills home while Townsend has moved into their Malibu beach abode.
The duo met in 2001 on the set of a thriller called “Trapped.”
Tila Tequila deleted her Twitter page on Monday morning. Despite having shot to fame as an internet and social media phenomenon, Tequila has shut down her account in response to the constant stream of negative comments directed at her by some of her Twitter followers, according to Radaronline.
Tila over the weekend said she was pregnant and also planning to adopt two Haitian orphans, which brought derogatory comments to this column.
But it seems nasty comments about a photo of what she bought her 3-year-old nephew (such as “nobody gives a s–t what you bought for your nephew or how high-end it is or what it will be worth someday”) pushed her to action.
“Look at the hater comments being left on this pic! HOW SAD THAT PEOPLE TALK S— ABOUT A 3 YEAR OLD KID,” Tequila wrote in the early morning hours of Monday. “Twitter, by FAR as THE MOST HATEFUL, DEVIL WORSHIPPERS, RACIST, AND VIOLENT COMMUNITY THAT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! TWITTER IS BAD.”
Miley Cyrus and other high-profile celebrities have also said no more to Twitter.
It seems that both Miley Cryus and Megan Fox are vying for a dubious distinction: worst actress of 2009.
Fox, 23, who starred in “Jennifer’s Body” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” and Cyrus, 17, star of “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” are both nominated for a Razzie, which celebrates the worst from Hollywood last year. Their “worst actress” competition: Beyonce (“Obsessed”); Sarah Jessica Parker (“Did You Hear About the Morgans?”) and Sandra Bullock (“All About Steve”), who, ironically is up for best actress for “The Blind Side.”
Worst-actor-of-2009 nominees include all three Jonas Brothers for “Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience”; Will Ferrell (“Land of the Lost”); Oscar host Steve Martin (“Pink Panther 2”); Eddie Murphy (“Imagine That”) and John Travolta (“Old Dogs”).
Up for worst picture of 2009? “All About Steve”; “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra”; “Land of the Lost”; “Old Dogs”; “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”
Because it’s the Razzies’ 30th anniversary year, awards also will be given to the worst filmmaking of the decade.
Worst Actor of the Decade nominees include “Gigli” star Ben Affleck, who’s “won” two Razzies in his career; “Norbit” star Eddie Murphy, who has received two Razzies; two-time Razzie winner Mike Myers; Rob Schneider, winner of one Razzie and Travolta.
The Worst Actress of the Decade nominees: “Glitter” star Mariah Carey; Paris Hilton, “winner” of four Razzies; three-time Razzie “winner” Lindsay Lohan; Jennifer Lopez, who’s received two Razzies and Madonna, “winner” of four Razzies.
2000’s “Battlefield Earth”; 2001’s “Freddy Got Fingered”; 2007’s “I Know Who Killed Me”; and 2002’s “Swept Away” are up for worst film of the decade.
The Razzies will be handed out March 6 – the day before the Oscars.
Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen says she gave birth to her son in a bathtub and that it didn’t hurt a bit.
The wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady tells Globo TV she wanted to be aware and calm during birth. So she decided to have her boy, Benjamin, at home on Dec. 8.
The model says in the interview aired Sunday she “didn’t want to be drugged up” when she gave birth.
To prepare, she says she did a lot of yoga and meditation.
Bundchen says the boy didn’t cry after being born and rested in her lap for a long time.
Brady and Bundchen were married in February.
Benjamin is Bundchen’s first child. Brady also has a 2-year-old son, Jack, with actress Bridget Moynahan.
