PUEBLO, Colo.—The U.S. Department of Labor says workers at Trane Inc. in Pueblo can apply for aid meant for people who lose their jobs to foreign competition.
The department said Tuesday that the workers are among about 4,400 in nine states who recently were deemed eligible to apply. It didn’t disclose the exact number of Colorado employees affected.
Applicants could receive job training and allowances to help them pay the bills while they’re going through training or pay for relocation.
Last summer, Trane Inc. said 195 jobs at its Pueblo plant would be eliminated by August as the heating and air conditioning manufacturer moved production to other plants.
