GREELEY, Colo.—Greeley authorities say window frost may have obscured the vision of a teenage driver who was struck by a bus, resulting in his sister’s death.

Investigators say 16-year-old Francisco Mendoza-Gonzalez was making a turn from a stop sign when his car was hit broadside Tuesday morning by a school bus. Mendoza-Gonzalez was on his way to school with his 15-year-old sister, Karla Mendoza-Gonzalez and a 14-year-old passenger.

One student on the school bus was injured but did not require hospitalization.

Officials say Karla Mendoza-Gonzalez was wearing a seat bealt at the time of the accident. Her brother remains hospitalized but the 14-year-old has been released.
