With no alpine medal events on tap today because of ongoing weather problems in Whistler, a U.S. nordic combined team that is the pride of Steamboat Springs could get more exposure than it otherwise might have received. The women’s super-combined was scheduled for today, but the women still haven’t gotten in a training run, so that event was postponed. The men’s downhill, scheduled for Saturday but postponed, could have been rescheduled for today but organizers decided to shoot for Monday. So NBC may be in a position to pay more attention to a strong nordic combined team in search of its first Olympic medal when it competes in the “normal hill” event.
