Two young girls playing in Remington Park today found the aluminum baseball bat Thornton police think was used in Monday’s fatal assault on 16-year-old Nathan Bozonier.

Witnesses said the occupants of a car that dragged Bozonier got out and began beating him with the bat in the 2000 block of Dichter Court at about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

A 1996 Nissan Maxima that police think struck Bozonier was found at a body shop Tuesday night, and authorities announced the search for the bat in or near the park soon after.

Police said the car’s owner had been questioned, but no arrests have been announced.

Police said a house party in the 1900 block of Dichter Court spilled down the street before the assault on the 16-year-old.

Police were looking for 10 men between 17 and 23 years old.

Anyone with information about the attack can call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or the Thornton police at 720-977-5078.
