LEE TOWNSHIP, Ohio—Authorities say a small plane crashed in a wooded area when a pilot attempted to land at Ohio University Airport.
The Ohio Highway Patrol says the pilot, 49-year-old Joseph C. Habermehl of Loveland, Colo., was taken to Ohio State University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash Thursday night.
Lt. J.D. Skinner says Habermehl struck several trees with the 1981 single-engine Cessna he was flying when he tried to land.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
