COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say they have arrested a second man suspected of stealing a dead soldier’s belongings from his widow’s car a day before she attended a memorial service for him.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s office said Wednesday the two men allegedly broke into the woman’s car while she was at a Colorado Springs restaurant Feb. 9. Officials say they still have not recovered the soldier’s belongings, which include a red Garmin wristwatch, a digital camera and his dog tags.

Bradley R. Smith, an Air Force Senior Airman from Troy, Ill. Smith died in Afghanistan on Jan. 3. of wounds from a blast near Kandahar Airfield.

Authorities arrested 29-year-old Denard Thompson and 22-year-old Dwain Boyd.
