Lufthansa Flight 447 from Denver to Frankfurt is scheduled to take off at 5:59 p.m. today, the first flight from Denver to Germany since air service was halted last Friday to many European destinations.
The airline was given permission to resume the flight by Germany’s aviation authority. An Icelandic volcano has been spewing ash that has posed an aviation hazard, grounding planes.
Today’s Lufthansa flight arrives in Frankfurt at 11:45 a.m. local time Tuesday.
United Airlines and British Airways which operate nonstop roundtrips between Denver and London’s Heathrow Airport still haven’t been given clearance to resume service although that could come on Tuesday.
