WASHINGTON — The D.C. Council passed a measure Tuesday to legalize medical marijuana, sending the bill to Mayor Adrian Fenty.
Under the measure, patients with chronic illnesses could obtain marijuana with a doctor’s recommendation. It would be given out at five to eight distribution centers. Patients would be limited to 2 ounces of marijuana per month.
If Fenty signs the bill as expected, Congress will have 30 days to review it.
