Cinco de Mayo is a holiday meant for fun and letting go of pretense. Dos Equis Amber is an easygoing, easy-drinking companion for this celebration and excels when paired with Mexican food. As its name denotes, it pours a clear amber color with a thin, off-white head and somewhat high carbonation. Bolder than a simple pilsner yet still relatively mild, this Vienna-style lager has a nose that brings up malt, bread and caramel. The last of which is most dominant on the palate, with some sweetness and just a touch of bitter hops. The finish is clean and crisp. With 4.7 percent alcohol, it won’t make you the Most Interesting Man in the World, but you’ll be the hit of the party if you bring a 12-pack. Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc de Moctezuma, Monterrey, Mexico;
