A woman who said she was kidnapped by her boyfriend, Eddie Archer, pleaded with him to stop the car and let her and her young son out, after he forced them into the car in Westminster this morning, according to a 9-1-1 tape released tonight.

Archer, 22, has been arrested several times, with several weapons charges. He released the woman, who has not been named by police, and her son after driving them around the metro region and into the mountains near Boulder.

On the 9-1-1 tape, the man identified as Archer can be heard shifting blame to the woman, saying she ruined his day.

“I woke up in the best mood ever today,” he said, then accusing her of not understanding the Bible when she said, “God forbid I should protect my son.”

Archer has no relationship to the child, said Westminster police investigator Trevor Materasso.

Police found the woman and her son at a park near 33rd Avenue and Yates Street in Denver, and later found the gold Honda Civic the three were traveling in, but Archer has not been located.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call Westminster police at 303-658-4360.

The woman assisted police in their search by calling 9-1-1 on her cell phone and leaving the line open, capturing her panicked and sometimes incoherent arguments with Archer, as she pleads with him to stop and let her and her son out.

The phone line helped authorities track the Civic, and ultimately to the park where the woman and child were found.

Commander Rick Brough of the Boulder Sheriff’s Office said that during the incident the Sheriff’s Office received several calls from motorists who witnessed an ongoing disturbance in the car.

Police have not said whether a weapon was involved.

Archer has a Sept. 28 trial date in Adams County on multiple felony charges, including harassment by following a person in a public place, child abuse, reckless driving and using a real or simulated weapon. He was arrested by Westminster police in that case.

Online court records do not name the victim.

Archer was sentenced to 18 months probation in March 2009 after agreeing to plead guilty to a criminal mischief charge, also in Adams County.
