Manitou Springs didn’t have to look far in hiring its new football coach.
Jason Armour, who led the Mustangs to the 1990 state title, was introduced by the school Wednesday.
Armour, 37, played five seasons in the NFL — including eight games, and a Super Bowl ring, in 1998 with the Broncos — following a standout career at Stanford which saw him leave as the school’s all-time leading receiver.
He has no previous experience as a head coach.
Manitou Springs went 5-5 last season a year after going 8-3.
