GOLDEN, Colo.—Republicans have chosen Aurora City Councilman Ryan Frazier and Arvada pilot Lang Sias to vie for the chance to challenge Democratic Rep. Ed Perlmutter in November.

Frazier earned top-line designation on the Aug. 10 primary ballot by winning 171 votes Thursday in the GOP assembly in the 7th Congressional District, which includes parts of Denver’s east and west suburbs.

Sias came in second with 154 votes.

Two other candidates didn’t get enough support to make the ballot. Candidates needed 30 percent of assembly votes to land a spot.

Perlmutter, a lawyer and former legislator, is seeking a third term and has no Democratic opposition.
