PUEBLO, Colo.—Pueblo police say a 53-year-old bicyclist died after being struck by a car and that the vehicle that hit him left the scene.

Police Sgt. Dan Rutherford says the man was riding his bicycle at 1:36 a.m. Saturday when a car hit him and drove away. Police don’t have a description of the vehicle. He says the car and the bicyclist were both eastbound on a street.

Rutherford says the bicycle did not have a headlight or rear reflector.

The bicyclist’s name has not been released.
