COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The architect of America’s 110-medal performance at the Beijing Games is a busy guy these days, helping other nations improve their Olympic performance.
Steve Roush left the U.S. Olympic Committee in 2008. Since then he has worked with countries from Saudia Arabia to Russia to help them boost their medal count.
While Roush’s efforts have raised a few eyebrows in American sports, the USOC says it has no problem with his consulting work with other countries. Roush says it helps America’s reputation in Olympic circles in other countries.
