EAGLE, Colo.—A judge will hear arguments on what evidence can be presented during the trial of a 63-year-old Vail man accused of shooting and killing one man and wounding three others in a bar.

Richard “Rossi” Moreau likely will also be asked to enter a plea during the hearing Friday in Eagle County District Court.

Moreau is charged with first-degree murder in the Nov. 7 slaying of Gary Bruce Kitching of Carbondale. He is also charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder and other felonies.

His trial is set to start Sept. 20.

Defense attorneys want to suppress evidence from the bar and from Moreau’s house and car as well as statements he made while he was in custody.
