U.S. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet say they want a resolution soon on a 2000 federal lawsuit filed by Latino farmers and ranchers who allege unfair treatment during the distribution of disaster loans.
The 100 ranchers say they were discriminated against when the federal government reviewed and distributed disaster loans from 1981 to 2000.
Udall said the farmers and ranchers deserve the right to rebuild their lives and their businesses. Bennet says justice is “long overdue.”
