CASPER, Wyo.—The union representing Wyoming Safeway workers are meeting to discuss a new labor agreement.

The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 says workers at 10 Wyoming Safeway stores want a raise of 25 cents per hour and the same pension benefits as the grocery chain’s Colorado employees. Safeway previously turned down those proposals.

Safeway spokeswoman Kris Staaf says the company believes they have offered employees a fair deal. She says the company doesn’t comment specifically to the media about labor discussions.

The negotiations will be held Tuesday in Casper and two other meetings are planned in June.

UFCW Local 7 represents about 23,000 grocery and food production workers in Colorado and Wyoming.
